The California Department of Public Health has issued All Facilities Letter (AFL) 22-13, which provides updates on recommendations for testing of health care personnel and residents of skilled-nursing facilities (SNFs).

The AFL incorporates the January 2022 amended public health order requiring SNF health care personnel to receive boosters and complete their primary series and booster dose by March 1 unless exempted. Unvaccinated exempt personnel and booster eligible personnel who have not yet received their booster must be tested twice weekly.

The AFL also includes updated testing and quarantine guidance for newly admitted and readmitted residents based on their vaccination and booster status in alignment with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.
