This information details the Western Regional Alliance for Pediatric Emergency Management (WRAP-EM) and offers insights to the challengers, solutions, and provides materials, facilitation and environment for conducting tabletop exercise simultaneously across multiple regions, states, and coalitions.
This presentation outlines the importance of writing clear, measurable objectives to ensure effective exercises. The session describes three exercise-planning pitfalls that could endanger participants and gives recommend steps hospitals can take to avoid problems.
There are 7 types of exercises. Exercises are either discussion based, or operations-based. Discussions-based exercises familiarize participants with current plans, policies, agreements and procedures, or may be used to develop new plans, policies, agreements, and procedures.
2023 Disaster Conference
In this presentation, participants will learn how to lead cost efficient disaster exercises and incident responses within thematic approaches within the following scenarios: mass decontamination, active shooter, bomb threat and labor action scenarios, and will receive ready-made templates for exercise development.
Hospitals are required to conduct drills and exercises for accreditation and/or grant requirement(s).
2024 Disaster Conference
This session presents lessons learned from the Golden Hills Post Acute Care evacuation of 88 SNF residents and 22 sub-acute patients due to severe storm damage to their building. The session reviews how the facility coordinated with local SNFs, prioritized load leveling, and supported facilities receiving patients with Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms (MDRO’s). Learn how Sharp HealthCare’s Coronado campus, having practiced full facility evacuations, effectively received evacuees, demonstrating exceptional compassion and resourcefulness.

The Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) is a capabilities and performance-based exercise program that provides a standardized methodology and terminology for exercise design, development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning.
First implemented in 2004, Cal OES’ annual state-level exercise series has become the most comprehensive preparedness exercise program in the country. The annual exercise series is designed to assess emergency operations plans, policies, and procedures for all-hazards/catastrophic incidents at the local, regional, state, and federal levels.
